When working with calculations to “pull” or share data between forms and repeating data you will need to think about where data is coming from and where you want to send it to.

In general:

• Study variables can only be referenced within the study or Repeating Data forms
• Repeating Data variables can only be referenced within the same Repeating Data Structure
• Survey variables can be referenced only within the same survey

Keep in mind that these fields are only executed when the respective form is opened and do not count towards record progress.

You can reference survey or report data within a study form, however, this calculation will only “grab” the last reported value. If you have the same question on a baseline survey and Day 30 survey, the reference will be for the Day 30 survey.
