Castor Connect 2026.1.0
Major release date: 25 March 2026 (Android only)
System defects fixes
Participant stopped receiving surveys on Castor Connect or Surveys Disappearing
This fix is applicable to surveys configured with as needed, repeatable schedule with no expiration date. The survey would disappear from the task list after 10 days as a default. The expiration feature has been updated to respect the configuration. The survey will no longer expire unless an expiration window is set.
When multi-field page contains more than one camera field behavior is not consistent
When an image field is included in more than one question on the same page, the image taken for Question 2 will replace the image taken for Question 1. This behavior has been corrected. Images taken for Question 1 and Question 2 on the same page will store independently.
Number field keyboard missing “-” (minus) key on Samsung devices
This behavior has been corrected.
Duplicate offline survey entries for Castor Connect survey
In areas of low connectivity, coupled with large data transmissions (ie. photo uploads), Castor Connect was making multiple attempts to send data via the API to the CDMS database as part of the standard sync. This results in the same data from multiple survey packages being stored. To address this behaviour, we have refactored the file syncing process for Castor Connect to CDMS.
Add survey submission loading screen to prevent premature app closure
An indicator has been added to the submission loading screen for use with photo upload. The new indicator is a loading screen that shows the file upload in process. This is to ensure participants do not close the application before submission is complete.
Castor Connect 2026.1.0.1
Hotfix release date: 21 April 2026 (iOS & Android)
- Resolved an issue where photos captured by participants in Castor Connect could be missing from the completed survey instance, despite the participant receiving an upload confirmation in the app.
- Resolved a synchronization issue where a survey completed while the app was closed or reopened during the process could remain stuck in "Queued" status and return an error when the participant tried to sync manually. Affected surveys now sync and complete successfully.
- Resolved an issue where repeatable surveys created through Castor's Automation Engine could not be cloned into new repeat instances within Castor Connect. Affected surveys are now correctly recognized as eligible for repeating.
Castor Connect 2026.1.0.2
Hotfix release date: 3 July 2026 (iOS & Android)
- Resolved an issue where calculation fields using the surveyPackageAvailableFromDate template value could return a localized date (e.g. displayed in the participant's device language) instead of a consistent date format. Dates submitted from this field now match the format used in Castor EDC, regardless of the participant's device language.
