What does 'study type' mean? Which type should I use for my study in EDC/CDMS?
In the ‘Settings’ tab, you can select the type of study you will build.
Below you can find information about the different study types and what they mean for your data:
- Production study - this should be used for studies in which you will be collecting real data from patients or subjects.
- Test study - a test study is used for studies that are used for development or testing, for example if you want to test your study structure.
- Example study - recommended for training or example studies, such as institute wide learning environments that are not used for real data or development.
This setting also affects the way the study is displayed in the 'My Studies' overview, so that test studies can be easily distinguished from production studies and example studies.
