Release Date: December 17, 2024
In Castor CDMS version 2024.4.0.0, Castor is releasing two important enhancements that improve data management workflows:
- Automated (Re-)Execution of Calculations
- Automated (Re-)Evaluation and Persistence of Validations
These features will be enabled by default for all studies created after the 2024.4.0.0 release.
For existing studies, the features can be enabled as described in the sections below.
Automated (Re-)Execution of Calculations
This feature automates the execution of calculation fields when relevant triggers occur, such as data entry, import, or updates to the study structure or calculation templates.
Key Points:
- For existing studies, the feature can be enabled via the Study Settings page.
- Once enabled, it cannot be disabled.
- The system checks for cyclic dependencies between calculation fields and blocks enabling if such cycles exist.
For detailed information on changes, see the release notes.
Automated (Re-)Evaluation and Persistence of Validations
This feature ensures that validations (system edit checks) are automatically re-evaluated in the background whenever data changes occur or when study structures are updated.
Key Points:
- For existing studies, this feature can only be enabled by contacting Castor Customer Support.
- Once enabled, it cannot be disabled.
- A complete history of validations is maintained and accessible in the study audit trail.
For more details, consult the release notes.
These updates aim to enhance efficiency, data integrity, and auditability in clinical data management workflows within Castor CDMS.
