How should I clear cookies and cache? EDC/CDMS

Each time you access a web page through your web browser (Internet Explorer, Firefox, Chrome, etc), the browser caches (i.e., stores) it, so it doesn't have to keep retrieving the same files or images from the remote web site each time you click Back or Forward. If you experience any slowness or issues, it might help to clear the cookies and cache for Castor EDC. You don't have to clear all cookies and cache - it is also possible to select for which specific web page you would like to clear cookies and cache, e.g. data.castoredc.com.

Instructions for clearing cache and cookies are listed per browser below.

 

Edge

  1. In Edge, select the three dots at the top right corner of the window, then Settings
  2. Select the Cookies and site permissions option on the left, and then Cookies and site data.
  3. See all cookies and site data
  4. Remove all and confirm the pop up.

 

Google Chrome

To quickly delete all cookies and cache:

  1. Press Ctrl+Shift+Delete.
  2. Select 'Cookies and other site data' and 'Cached images and files'.
  3. Click 'Clear data'.

To delete cookies and cache for Castor EDC specifically:

  1. Click on the three vertical dots on the top right
  2. Click "Settings", then click "Advanced"
  3. Under "Privacy and security," click "Site settings"
  4. Click "Cookies and site data" and then "See all cookies and site data"
  5. Click on the Castor EDC website (i.e., data.castoredc.com, uk.castoredc.com, us.castoredc.com)
  6. Click "Remove all".

Internet Explorer

To quickly delete all cookies and cache:

  1. Press Ctrl + Shift + Delete. 
  2. Remove all checks except the selection "Temporary Internet files and website files".
  3. Click on the Button "Delete" to empty the browser cache. 

To delete cookies and cache for Castor EDC specifically:

  1. Click on the gear in the browser
  2. Select "Internet options"
  3. In the "General" tab, click on "Settings" (in the "Browsing history" section)
  4. Click on "View files". You will see a folder with all cookies. Find data.castoredc.com and delete the cookies (or delete them all if you want)

 

Mozilla Firefox

  2. Click "Options"
  3. Click "Privacy & Security"
  4. Scroll down and click "Clear Data" under "Cookies and Site Data"
  5. Tick both options, "Cookies and Site Data" and "Cached Web Content"
  6. Scroll down and click on "Clear History" under History

  2. Click "Go to Full Browser Settings".
  3. Click "Cookies and other site data" and then "See all cookies and site data"
  4. Click on the Castor EDC website (i.e., data.castoredc.com, uk.castoredc.com, us.castoredc.com)
  5. Click "Remove all".

 

Safari (IOS Catalina 10.15)

  1. In the Safari app on your Mac choose History > Clear History
  2. Then click the pop-up menu and choose the time frame to clear the cache, history and cookies
  3. Click "Clear History"
